Why does STM sponsor the Mane Event and where does the money go? The auction is the school’s largest and ONLY fundraiser. Proceeds from the event are used to offset tuition increases, purchase the most up-to-date textbooks and educational materials, as well as, state-of-the-art technology equipment, software. Additional excess funds will support the school’s operating budget. We depend on the revenue from this event each year to meet the many needs of our growing school.
How much are tickets and how can I get them? Tickets are $60 per person. Invitations to school families will be sent home the week of Oct 18. Please send in your RSVP to the school office c/o Invitations as soon as possible as seating is limited. Feel free to invite your friends and/or colleagues. If for some reason, you do not receive your invitation or would like one sent to a friend, please email Kathy Bergstrom.
When and Where is the Mane Event? The Mane Event will be held on November 17th at the Denver Marriott South at Park Meadows. Location Map for Marriott
What items will be available for bid at the auction? EVERYTHING…our list includes trips, parties, class projects (created by your children), sports memorabilia, home décor, and many other exciting items! For a complete description of all items in advance, look on the Mane Event web page (www.stmk8.com/maneevent) on October 29, 2007.
How do I turn my Auction Donation(s) and Donor Form(s) into the school? Send your donation and form with your child c/o Mane Event School Office. You may also take your donations directly to school office.
Where do all the auction items come from? The Procurement committee led by Lisa Zinno, Carol Caflisch and Cindy McNamara, have solicitors hard at work obtaining some of the best items that any auction offers. Through the 100% Participation Auction Drive, we are asking each family to donate one item. No item is too big or too small. Is there a talent that you would like to share? This is a great opportunity to sell your service. Don’t necessarily have the time or talent? We are always in need of monetary donations to help make packages extra special. Ask businesses you frequent and/or your place of employment to support our school. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community. If you have any questions, please call Lisa Zinno at 303-649-1899.
What is the Give-A-Gift Program? Provide a cash donation toward a really cool item that will be auctioned off in the silent auction. Items last year included Power Wheel Escalades, Razor Electric Scooter and IPOD Nano. See list of available items in the office. Please email Carol Caflisch.
What can I expect the night of the auction? First of all, plan to arrive on time – 5:30 pm, that is. There is so much to see at our auction that you will really have to move fast to see it all. After check-in, you’ll be able to browse Silent Auction and place your bids on your favorite items. We’ll move to a sit down dinner at 8:00pm and proceed to the always-lively Live Auction.
I can't attend the auction, but there are a few things I saw in the Auction Booklet that I would really like to have....what can I do? New this year will be on-line bidding for some of our silent auction items. You will also be able to preview our live and silent auction items via the Mane Event web page (www.stmk8.com/maneevent ). Bid online or enlist the help of a friend who is going to the auction.
What if I am the highest bidder on the BBQ grill and I don’t think I can fit it in my VW ? Free delivery to your home is available on Sunday for over-sized items. Look for a delivery tag hanging on the auction item.
I am new at the school and still not sure what the auction is all about! Remember, ALL of us were new at one time. We jumped in and bought a raffle ticket or contributed an auction item to “the great unknown.” But when we stepped into the auction and saw the magic that had been created, we were sold! Come on Nov 17th and experience it for yourself. Once you’ve experienced the evening, you’ll be on board and will likely chair a committee next year. This is a fun and rewarding way to contribute to the school.
I am not sure we should come to the auction.. I have heard that things go for a lot of money. Remember, one of the goals of the auction is to bring the parent community together! We’d love for you to attend, even if you don’t want to spend a lot of money. We pride ourselves on having a wide range of items up for bid. Last year 180 items sold for under $100 each. This is a great party where you can visit with your friends and also build new relationships.
How can I help? I work full time or I have a baby at home. There are SO many different ways to contribute to this event. Will you offer your time and energy to help with decorations, solicitations or set-up on the auction day? Or can you lend some muscle power to the delivery team on Sunday? Many hands make light work. Contact Volunteer coordinator Nancy Shipp or Chris Nealy to enlist.
What is appropriate dress for the event? Holiday attire is encouraged. No jeans please.
