Parents Day Out and Preschool

History

. In 1986, the Mothers Day Out program began at St. Thomas More for children 12-months-old to 5 years of age. The program operated one day per week in the Church cry room and Mission Room. Through the course of the next years, the program evolved to serve children 18-months old and walking to 5-years-old operating two and then three days per week. With the completion of the Evangelization Center in 2001, the program moved to its current location. The 4-year-old preschool program was added in 2002 and the 3-year-old preschool program was added in 2005.


Current Program
The Toddler Parents Day Out component is for children 18-months-old and walking to 3-years-old and provides activities to foster gross and fine motor development, language development and social interaction. The Preschool component is for children 3 to 5 years old and is based on a curriculum developed by the Archdiocese of Denver in May 2003. Curriculum areas include: blocks and manipulative toys (fine motor), pre-math, pre-writing and pre-reading, large motor development, science discovery, dramatic play, snack, outdoor time, on-site programs, music, Bible stories and values, and art.

A $75.00 non-refundable application fee per child is due at the time of class placement. Class placement is based on the child’s age as of October 1, 2008

The 2008-2009 sessions are:

Toddler Parents Day Out (PDO)
Children 18 months and walking to 3 years old by October 1
Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday (Choice of 1 day)
9:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.
$720 per year

Preschool Program
Children 3 years old by October 1
Tuesday and Thursday morning
8:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
$1,300 per year

Children 3 1/2 years old by October 1
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon
12:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
$1,700 per year

Pre-Kindergarten Program
Children 4 years old by October 1
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning
8:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
$1,700 per year

Junior-Kindergarten Program
Children 4 1/2 years old by October 1
Monday through Thursday afternoon
12:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
$2,100 per year

Enrollment in St. Thomas More Parents Day Out and Preschool does not affect enrollment in St. Thomas More Parish School.
