Family Life Commission

Mission Statement: To provide recreational and social events and to enhance the spiritual and social needs of the parishioners.

For involved, active parishioners, St. Thomas More Parish feels like family. An enormous family! The Family Life Commission has re-organized to provide more family oriented activities for the parish. To support family life and to nurture the family spirit, the parish offers a variety of ministries, apostolates, and social activities, including Bridge Club, Moms and Tots, STM Singles Group and more.

Another shining light in this area of the parish is our Knights of Columbus Council #10205. The council consists of approximately 200 men. The members perform thousands of hours of voluntary services, including maintenance of church property, collection of food for food banks, collection of clothes for the poor, sale of Tootsie Rolls to benefit retarded children and sponsoring dances for the parish. Spiritually, the Knights encourage saying the Rosary daily, visitation to the oratory, and prayers for vocations.

The Knights also have a Ladies Auxiliary composed of wives of the Knights of Columbus. The auxiliary supports the Knights in their many projects, in addition to organizing their own outreach projects, including the collection of new and used clothing for unwed mothers.
